Brian Petersen – CEO, CIO
Mr. Petersen is the founder CEO, CIO of American Storage Group. His vision was to create a company that could provide research, acquisition, investment and management services for the storage market sector. He maintains and active role as Corporate Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. His experience in the storage sector began in 2008 when he founded American Self Storage, LLC and purchased the first of its holdings. Since that time, under his direction, the company has expanded its holdings to 8 locations with multiple acquisitions planned in the near future. He holds an officer position on the board of the South Carolina Self Storage Association.
Mr. Petersen has been a successful entrepreneur, an active real estate investor, builder, developer and private lender for 20 years in the residential and commercial sectors spanning over several states. Prior to becoming involved in real estate, he enjoyed a successful career in manufacturing, distribution, import and export in the forest products industry. He also gives back by being involved in several community organizations and is the current Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Liberty, SC and is a USCG licensed Master Captain.
Elian Tyson – Director of Operations & Marketing
Ms. Tyson began her career with ASG first in website design, marketing and research. She is responsible for the company’s core business systems and infrastructure as well as all aspects of marketing, research and promotion. Ms. Tyson is a leading presence at ASG, versatile and dynamic, with well-rounded industry knowledge.
Prior to joining ASG Ms. Tyson worked extensively with her community and regional small businesses and organizations to improve their marketing and online presence. She received a B.S. degree from Clemson University.
Michael Sheriff – Director of Facility Development
Mr. Sheriff has been a member of the American Storage Group Team since its inception and holds a license to practice architecture in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. As a senior member of the team he has over 40 years of corporate facility planning for fortune 500 companies such as Blockbuster Video, Owens-Corning, Phillip Morris, National Cash Register, and Extended Stay American. Mr. Sheriff is in charge of all design, up-fits, conversions and construction projects with ASG.
Mr. Sheriff is former member of the board of directors of the South Carolina Chapter Of the American Institute of Architects. He served 12 years as an elected official of the city of Liberty including his last term as Mayor. As a graduate of Leadership Pickens County he has served on many community boards.
